FSX Carrier Ops
To many of us, flying FSX is very much like peeling potatoes, not much fun to it - as you can't do much more than take off and fly here and there, then land.

FSX is an acquired taste, so it is a bit hard to convey the sense of wonder that the new FSX Nimitz gives - nor the pleasure of flying the T-45C, you have to experience it, FSX is that, the pleasure of flying and (crash) landing.

for the download links and a quick review, click on the banner or the Read More link and for our forum thread click here .

Made by Dino Cattaneo the T-45C v1.85 is freeware , and as good as any payware, it feels very good to fly and its handling feels genuine, it is not a demanding aircraft to control nor should it be.

this T-45C cockpit is well illuminated and the HUD is clearly visible in all conditions

The Nimitz Carriers made by Javier Fernandez are, to put it mildly, an extraordinary achievement - in all my years as a flight simmer I have never seen such a work of art, it is nothing short of THE benchmark for any model of a ship in any Sim, and surprisingly, it is also freeware .

This is the 'recovering aircraft' version, there are others for take off as well as a clean Nimitz model without any aircraft on deck. The deck is filled with aircraft, so cleverly built are the models that they have no impact on FPS rates and do look as good as any and they look very real.

The Nimitz comes with its CCG/DDG escorts as well as SH-60 plane guard, no VISIBLE virtual arrestor gear is available, but you will come to a sudden halt by catching one of the 4 wires . FPS is excellent and on deck, it is surprisingly high, you can get info on how to install by reading our Nimitz forum thread .

(direct) Download Links :

A must have, to place the NIMITZ add on in a map so that you can use it - you will need AICarriers2

REX, FEX, ASA, ORBX AU GOLD REGION were used in this article.

Install was very easy - ZIP files for all add ons , screenshots originaly @ 1600x1200, AA x4, AF x2 - FSX-A set at high settings - I used a DX48BT2 Core2Duo 3.16Mhz, 4 GB 1333 RAM, 2x500MB RAID, WinXP Pro, Nvidia 8800GTX , Windows XP Pro.

No Goshawks were harmed in the making of this review, but a couple of Corsairs, a Wyvern and an F-18C were, sorry ;
