      Hello everybody,

      the Afghanistan theatre is a new extension for FSX@War that I have been working on over the past few months along with the help of Bovsam.

      Four major afghan airports have been realistically modelized based on photoreal data: Bagram, Kandahar, Shindand, Kunduz. Delaram Helobase and Bandar Helobase are also included as well as some more friendly strategic sites such as army camps or ammunition depots for example. On the other side, there are 36 terrorists camps and some more key sites controled by terrorists. These are located in small valleys or mountains which will make your missions quite challenging sometimes.

      Two missions, made by Bovsam, are also provided : « Pressure on Dowshi » and « Capture of Mohu ». These missions are quite challenging and they will probably push your skills to the limits. In the first mission, you will have to stop the enemy advance and to protect Dowshi ammunition depot. In the second one, you will have to help the friendly ground forces to regain control on an area that is currently controlled by enemies. Because tactical situation is very complex, you will often have to rely on the JTAC that is marking targets with smokes or laser pointer.

      Depending on your interest, I may improve this theatre : Herat airbase, Kabul airport and some other could be modelized as well as some more terrorist camps and strategic sites. Bovsam could also make new missions.

      If you have enjoyed this theatre and you would like to donate, please consider making your donation here : https://www.icrc.org/en/donate. I don’t want to make any money of this real conflict and your money will be far more usefull over there.

      SA342 USMC HMLA-167 "Warriors" Skin Pack

      Marine Light Helicopter Squadron (HML) 167 was commissioned in April 1968 in Vietnam, and flew the UH-1E in combat operations until June 1971, where it was the last Marine helicopter squadron in Vietnam.  Of note, HML-167 was the first unit to drop a bomb from a helicopter, accomplished with the use of the Helicopter Trap Weapon (HTW).  In June 1971, HML-167 returned stateside to MCAS New River, North Carolina, as part of the 2nd Marine Air Wing.

      In 1972, HML-167 received the UH-1N Twin Huey, which it would fly until 2012 when the UH-1N was replaced by the UH-1Y Venom.  In 1984, HML-167 received its first AH-1T Cobras and became a composite squadron of Cobras and Hueys.  HML-167 was redesignated Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 167 in April 1986, and as such designated as a permanent composite squadron of both Cobras and Hueys.  HMLA-167 began upgrading to the AH-1W Super Cobra in late 1989.

      Today the HMLA-167 "Warriors" fly the UH-1Y Venom and the AH-1W Super Cobra.

      This is a fictional skin pack of SA342L/M/Mistral Gazelles with HMLA-167 markings.  Each SA342 variant has five different BuNos (USN/USMC serial numbers) allowing you to create packages of different aircraft.  You still provide your own two digit MODEX (side number) in the mission editor.  This skin pack is intended to satisfy one's "cobra itch" until the AH-1 is released.

      Note: this skin pack uses an EXE installer that creates common texture folders and an autoexec.cfg (if you already have one, you can make manual changes). I would like your feedback on this system; if it works I intend to apply it to my other skin packs.

      A Note About Autoexec.cfg:

      Rather than copying texture files to their respective livery folders, I prefer to use a series of common texture folders along with unique filenames.  This allows a single instance of many of my common textures, and keeps the hard drive footprint to a minimum (especially nice if you run a SSD for your system drive).

      The installer will add a series of folders to the DCS Texture path; if you do not have these folders created, then it is no  problem.  The autoexec.cfg included will automatically point to the Texture folder in your Saved Games\DCS folder, and regardless of whether you run the Open Alpha, Open Beta, or Release version of DCS, the path will always point to your Saved Games\DCS\Texture folder.  Again, this saves space on your hard drive.

      If you use your own Autoexec.cfg, then when prompted to overwrite you can click "no".  This will create a file called autoexec.new, and you can manually make the updates as you like.  Just don't modify the top line with the file date; this is used by the installer for version control. However, feel free to include it in your existing autoexec.cfg, so you don't get prompted to overwrite until there's another update to the autoexec.cfg.

      If you inadvertently overwrite your autoexec.cfg, it is actually backed up as autoexec.old.  Just open it and copy the appropriate information to the new file.

      Special thanks to Upuaut for his templates that were used to create the flightsuit torso and legs.
      You are free to use any of the textures in other skins or projects as long as proper credit is provided in the readme file.

      I'll put a note in the description that it requires DCSW 1.2.16 or earlier.

      that is because DCS has a new MiG-29 model and skins made for the old one do not work anymore.

      First I'm very happy with this mode. I landed F/A-18C on CVN70 Carl Vinson, managed to land GR7 Harrier Vertically on parking lot, led Su-17 4 planes formation on Ground attack mission. !!! THANK YOU PEOPLE WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE. :icon_applause:

      Problems and questions:

      1. BAe Harrier GR7 doesnâ€2122.pngt have weapons and payload picture.

      2. F-4 PhantomII with ground weapons can't release them. I had to press Ctrl W to Drop Mk-82 on target aiming visually. Arresting Hook is not operational. Is it possible to use F-15 cockpit when in CAP, Fighter swept, Escort missions and Mig-29S or A-10 or Su-25 cockpit when on Pinpoint strike or Ground attack or Anti-Ship missions? I mean add new plane F-4 for AA and F-4 for AG.

      3. Tornado and F-16 can use GBU-10 and GBU12, but again there is a problem with release. :icon_banghead: Tornado has A-10 cockpit, but doesn't show aiming brackets or laser designator. F-16 has MiG-29 cockpit and has radar aim I with laser designator Shift O and TV aim O and (-/+ zoom) but weapon release is not working. Do I need any add-on or is there any instruction for weapon release and aiming? Note: AI wingman can strike precisely with these weapons when ordered.

      4. F-5 and F-5E also can carry AIM-120 and also have AG capabillity with AGM-65 and LAU rockets. it will be nice to have.

      New planes I would like added flyable with this mod in the future.

      MiG-21, Su-35, PAK-FA, Tu-95 and Tu-160

      Gripen , Viggen, Draken

      Mirage III , Rafale, Super Etendart

      A-4, T-38 Talon, EA-6, F-117, F/A-18(E/F/G), F35, F22,

      T-45 Goshawk, (BAe- Hawk T-1 or Hawk 127), Alpha Jet, Yak-130 or M346,

      Eurofighter Typhoon and Jaguar

      And may be some prop attack planes for operation in the mountains such as Pilatus PC-21, or Embraer EMB-314(At-27) Supper Tucano, A-1 Skyrider, OV-10 bronco or Puccara and Pilatus PC-12NG as (Transport, reconnaissance, SpecOps)

      I download this mod for FC2 that include all those fighter and a new shape for F-16D also include the SU-47 and mig 21 bis but i have 2 bugs problem in this mod the first one on the Loadout of the enemy fighter some enemy fighter  have 3 missile on one wing and the other one is empty of missile the fuel tanker supposed to be 1 in each wing and the other on in the middle of the fighter but in the Gripen fighter become 2 fuel tanker on one wing and 1 tanker become on the other side of the wing with one missile.The 2nd problem and this is the important one to all of you and to me is all of my wing-men  are ignore my order when i tell them to attack our enemy they say unable to attack the enemy or negative. Even if they closer from our fighters they don't attack any missile and the enemy fire a missile on them also the other fighter that support you are not complete there mission like the mig 29 and su 25t before they reach the enemy territory they return back to our territory again that what the mod are doing when i uninstall the mod from the ModMan every thing become normal again but without the fighter model.Is there any solution for fixing this problem.Thank you

      Why is the file encrypted with a password? What does one need to do to unock?

      check the key bindings - the one for firing AAM in Russian Planes is not the same as the one for the F-15

      When flying the F15C in DCS FC3 and DCS world 2 I am unable to launch any A-A missile when I have a lockon. Only the cannon fires with the programmed keystrokes for "weapon release" or "weapon fire". I also notice that in the cockpit the weapon master switch is in the "off" position but this switch is inactive. Any suggestions appreciated?

      you need to add to each of these countries the entry for the Su-25T

      -- a --

      -- USA

      search for :

      local units = country:get("USA").Units

      after it, add:

      cnt_unit( units.Planes.Plane, "Su-25T");
      cnt_unit( units.Planes.Plane, "Su-27");
      cnt_unit( units.Planes.Plane, "MiG-29A");
      cnt_unit( units.Planes.Plane, "MiG-29S");

      -- b --

      local units  = country:get("ISRAEL").Units

      do the same

      -- c --

      local units  = country:get("GERMANY").Units

      do the same

      -- 2 --

      search for :

      VFSTexturePaths =

      after it, add:

      ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\CAW Su-25T AGRS BLACK by Black_Hawk";
      ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\CAW_Su-25T by Black Hawk";
      ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\CAW_Su-25T SWAF by Brewber";

      it is now ready to use.

      read me updated to work with DCS v1.5 and DCS v2.03

      P3D/FSX Screenshots

      FSX Embraer A-29B Super Tucano <updated>

       -This package contains all the files of the original package with sound now being directed to "sound.SASC208FSX" and the 2D panel to "panel.wide" folders. If you want the original sounds or 2D panel make the applicable changes to the aircraft.cfg)

       -Although the originally included textures remain in their ported DXT5 format the "RCAF" textures have been converted to .dds files and to save on the file size    a "texture.cfg" file has been added to the that directory (meaning only textures that have been changed have been added to the archive.)

       - All original "readme" files can be found in the "Documentation" subfolder of the A-29B folder.

      WARNING: If you already have the A-29B, installing this package *will* overwrite files including the aircraft.cfg! So if you have made changes to files either back up or move your existing A-29B installation folder out of the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" folder all together and sort through it afterwards. It is beyond the scope of this document or its author to render any assistance in that matter (in other words you are on your own!)

      Again, back up any existing A-29B installation files and folders by moving them out of your flight simulator directory!

      1)Extract the downloaded "Tim Conrad_A-29B_updated.zip" archive to a temporary folder of your choice.

      2)Drag and drop the contents of the "SimObjects" folder from the extracted archive in step one to your Microsoft Flight Simulator\SimObjects folder in Windows Explorer. (default FSX install location is usually "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X" or if you have a 64 bit system: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X" (NOTE:these locations may vary by operating system the above are default locations in Windows 7)

      3)Drag and drop the contents of the "Gauges" folder from the extracted archive in step one to your  Microsoft Flight Simulator\Gauges folder.

      Further enhancements and additional files:

      • Daniel Gauthier's Cockpit sounds V2 (utilizing Doug Dawson's dsd_fsx_xml_sound, v5.2.0).
      • Luiz Alvarenga's 2D wide pane - with updated panel.cfg and additional gauges by Micheal Pook and panel background bitmap changes by Gary Moore.
      • SkyHigh Simulations Pratt and Whitney PT6-114 turboprop sound pack (Adam Murphy).
      • New Aircraft and cockpit views (Gary Moore).
      • One additional "fictional" Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) texture scheme (by Gary Moore).
      • Tim Conrad's A-29B Super Tucano package (ported to FSX version) with his original (un-retouched) textures.
