    NIS 2010 or KIS 2010?

    Postby AMRAAM_Missiles » Mon Feb 08, 2010 5:11 am

Hi all, What AV do you use for your Computer?
I wanna say about a AV that Strong, can protect my computer from any kind of Virus and The most Importanct: "WON'T SLOW DOWN MY RIG"
I have already tried KIS 2010 and it seem slow everything down with Pop-Up and Quick Scan. KIS's Firewall is such like an noisy neighborhood next to your house. It always warn me anykind of program that i run with pop-up and delay it. Extract/Rip the Compress is much longer than normal (like x4 time). The most d@mn thing is KIS usually kill my LO MOD everytime i pack it with ModMan (Troyjan Self-Install?)?
I was tired to click "acpect" anytime i run Hyperlobby or run Call Of Duty 4 and KIS always make my CPU usage higher than 30% even "idle"
Internet Speed slow down about x2 and Ping to RaF Sever Increase from 70 to 300. Sometime KIS quanrantine "Protect.exe" and made me ti re-installed LOFC. 8O
    So. Any idea about KIS?
I much prefer Norton IS 2010, at lease my ATOM still play Counter Strike at 70 fps, not 24 when KIS is present. and My computer performance still in one piece. And again, no high ping and wrong catch. :dizzy:
    So What is your comment?

I don't use any AV software on my gaming PC, On my laptop, I use freewareAVG, and if I suspect a virus on any of my PC's, I immediately reformat and reinstall.

    Neither.

I don't use anti-virus but I do use Windows Firewall. I only use Spybot: Search & Destroy and Spyware Blaster as anti-spyware programs.

    Hi.
I use KIS 2010 and I gotta say It's pretty good. I don't feel any slow down, but my rig is not really an atom-based one.
I would suggest KIS if you want a good protection, but only if you know what you are doing and how to set it. Sometimes, KIS messages can be a little complex.
I don't really know NIS, but i would say it should be a little more user friendly, although less efficient.

I would also add that I've used NIS and Norton Utilities or versions of it for the past 12 years, it's picked up viruses that had been missed by other AV tools, as an emergency on my laptop I have used AVG and found it to be reasonable, Spybot caused nothing but trouble and was uninstalled within 1 day. I would suggest NOT buying Norton 360 though it's about as useful as a empty gas can, I had to call Symantec help line when installing and uninstalling.

Stick with NIS2010 and Norton Utilities pro.

Non work great I have used both and both seen to fumble with one thing or the other. Some alien has always entered my system with either NIS or KIS.

That right, mate. The f15update or something like that... TroyJan? :applause:
NIS catch it because it send the data back to walmis to update the model, and NIS catch it like a TroyJan.
