The engine sounds, both in cockpit plus the external, are fantastic. Very realistically captures the Merlin snarl externally, and in-cockpit you really get the impression that you have a big, powerful V12 up front. Well done, Tom! The only downside is that the weapon sounds are almost drowned out in the roar inside. I've tried Relaxo's weapon sound files (which are terrific as well), but you can barely hear them as well. Fingers are crossed that a fix for this is on its way.

EDIT: @Rlaxoxo Your tip worked! 👍 After several trials I increased the gain of each Browning and Hispano an insane amount to get this result:

In-cockpit now sounds, IMHO, extraordinarily good with this combining of Tom Weis' lockonfiles.com Spitfire IX engine sounds mod with your Spitfire IX weapon sounds mod.

I still need to tweak the external sounds to get your weapon mod to be heard over Tom Weis' external Merlin sounds:

I will explore ways to perhaps lower the gain on the Tom Weis external Merlin engine sounds so the Rlaxoxo weapons are heard as well as they are now in cockpit.

A big thanks to you and Tom Weis for providing these awesome sounds to this wonderful addition to the DCS stable. 👏👏

Cheers,

Snapper

This sounds fantastic!

@ ATAG_SNAPPER  You can always manually bring the volume up for your preference if you don't like the mods you know.

Just go in the Mod folder and navigate to the cockpit gunsounds definitions.

MOD/mods/aircrafts/spitfire/sounds/sdef/.../.../.../browning303.sdf

And so on open them with notepad and those who have "gain = 0.65" or something along those lines bring up to "gain = 1.85" or something to your liking and they will be louder

EDIT: @ATAG_SNAPPER

Glad it worked out for you.

If you want to edit the sdf files for external sounds they're located at:

MOD/Sound/sdf/Weapons/Browning303.sdf ... etc

in cockpit the motor sound decrease with weapon sound , you have not this problem with the original dcs sound .

also the cockpit sound is like in a  bathroom , too clear .

the external sound is good .
