From today on,  other than this Portal and the "Other Flight Simulators" Forums, Blogs, Videos and our FSX downloads , we no longer offer the option to browse forums or download files unless you are logged in as a member of our Community.

This was done after our webmaster added a Steam  account option -  we offer now four ways to log in or to create an account : using either your Steam, Twitter or Facebook account or by simply creating a new account using your email to validate it.

Personally I find it a drag having to register in a website to download a file now and then or to read a thread  - but since this is now so easy to do , there is no reason why not do it as almost everyone has one of those three accounts. And our guests browse and download files by the hundreds not one or two.

There is no need anymore to allow unregistered members unrestricted access to our website content.

We are also sending emails reminding members that haven´t logged in for a while to do so again - yes, we miss you

Please use a valid email when registering and also check you email spam folder after registering, the email to confirm it is sent usually instantly, we don´t block access to anyone.
 

Sad news - we lost a friend.

It is with a very heavy heart that I want to relay that our dear friend and compatriot Jim Mackonochie (JimMack) died of liver cancer today. Jim, the son of a British test pilot was a Royal Navy officer before being a key figure in the birth of PC flight simulation. Jim was pivotal in the launch of the original Falcon and many other software entertainment products before he served as the catalyst that brought The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics together to launch the original Su-27 Flanker. In the years that followed, Jim served as the primary business development manager for TFC/Eagle Dynamics and was responsible for DCS products being available in dozens of countries around the world. But Jim was also one of the most genuine people you could hope to meet and he was a common sight at many fly-in, air shows, and industry events.

Like most people that excel in their field, Jim always had a true passion for this work and always pushed our team to provide the best product possible. Jim would spend hours going over reviews, customer feedback, and of course these very forums to provide the best possible perspective of what the customers wanted. He really was the customers' producer.

Jim will be deeply missed here and his passing leaves a hole in TFC and Eagle Dynamics that can never be filled.

Once more we paid all our quarterly bills as well as the extra expenses we had because of our code update, which seems to be finally done.

The Future of DCS

Currently the team is focused on completing Flaming Cliffs 3 and continued updates and improvements to DCS World. Once Flaming Cliffs 3 is complete, more of our focus will shift to upcoming DCS titles like the F-15C, F/A-18C and Fw-190D9. Looking further out, Eagle Dynamics and our partners plan a large number of new modules that include the Su-27SM, F-86F, MiG-15Bis, MiG-21Bis, Hawk, Mi-8, Mi-24, OH-58 and AH-1G, to just name a few.

The team is also hard at work on many updates and changes to our world rendering system, which will allow us to make new and much more detailed worlds than we have now, including the Nevada map. We hope to have these changes in place before the end of the year.

With the combination of a large and varied stable of aircraft, along with upcoming new maps, we will continue moving forward toward our goal of DCS World allowing combat missions over a wide array of time periods and locations. While our products initially started with a focus on modern day jets, this is now expanding to include World War 2, Korea, Vietnam and modern day content.
